SPARSH – AYUSH Way of LIfe
Ayush is a Sanskrit term which means “life” or “longevity”. It is also the name given to the Ministry of AYUSH in the Government of India, which is responsible for promoting alternative forms of medicine such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. In this article, we will take a closer look at the Ayush way of life and what it entails.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine that originated in India over 5000 years ago. It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. The fundamental principle of Ayurveda is to maintain balance in the body’s three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. This balance is believed to be the key to good health, and Ayurvedic practitioners aim to restore this balance through diet, lifestyle changes, and the use of natural remedies such as herbs and spices.
Yoga
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India over 5000 years ago. It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga involves a series of physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques designed to promote physical and mental well-being. The practice of yoga is believed to help individuals achieve a state of inner peace, increased flexibility and strength, and a deeper understanding of the self and the world around them.
Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a system of medicine that emphasizes the use of natural remedies and the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Naturopathic practitioners believe that health is a state of balance between the mind, body, and spirit, and that illness is a result of imbalances in this delicate balance. Naturopathy uses a range of therapies such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, and diet and lifestyle changes to help restore this balance and promote good health.
Unani
Unani is a system of medicine that originated in Greece over 2000 years ago and was later introduced to India. It is based on the principles of Greek medicine and emphasizes the use of natural remedies to treat illness and promote good health. Unani practitioners believe that good health is a result of balance between the body’s four humors – blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. Unani uses a range of therapies such as herbal medicine, massage, and diet and lifestyle changes to help restore this balance and promote good health.
Siddha
Siddha is a system of traditional medicine that originated in South India over 5000 years ago. It is based on the principles of Ayurveda and emphasizes the use of natural remedies to treat illness and promote good health. Siddha practitioners believe that good health is a result of balance between the body’s seven fundamental energies – Vatha, Pitha, Kapha, Saptadhatu, Mala, Agni, and Ama. Siddha uses a range of therapies such as herbal medicine, massage, and diet and lifestyle changes to help restore this balance and promote good health.
Homoeopathy
Homoeopathy is a system of medicine that was developed in Germany over 200 years ago. It is based on the principle of “like cures like,” which states that a substance that can cause symptoms in a healthy person can cure those same symptoms in a sick person. Homoeopathic practitioners believe that illness is a result of an imbalance in the body’s vital force, and that this imbalance can be corrected through the use of highly diluted natural substances.
In conclusion, the Ayush way of life is a holistic approach
